Accessing the ESRI Online Portal

To use the software, there is an extra process needed to verify your credentials before the program will be available to you.

1. Create an ArcGIS Account

   1. If you already have an University of Georgia ArcGIS Online (AGOL) account, skip to Step 2. This step is only for new users.

   2. Navigate to https://usg.maps.arcgis.com and click on the top-right sign-in option.
   3. Select the CAS/UGA SSO (Single sign-on) option.
      
      1. 
   4. Enter your UGA MYID account information.
   5. This will create your ESRI account and assign the USG licenses and entitlements to your account.

2. Log into ArcGIS Online

   1. Computers supported by Franklin College Office of Information Technology with ArcGIS Pro installations will have most of their options pre-configured.
   2. When you log in to a computer and start ArcGIS Online for the first time, you should be presented with the following screen.

   3. Select the CAS/UGA SSO (Single sign-on) option.
   4. Once the sign-in is complete, you'll be taken to the landing screen of ArcGIS Online

Downloading ArcGIS Pro Software

1. An ESRI account must already have been created in order to download the ArcGIS Pro software. See the previous instructions on how to create an account.
2. Navigate to https://usg.maps.arcgis.com and click on the top-right sign-in option.
3. When you log in to a computer and start ArcGIS Online for the first time, you should be presented with the following screen.

4. Select the CAS/UGA SSO (Single sign-on) option.
5. Once the sign-in is complete, you'll be taken to the landing screen of ArcGIS Online
6. Click on the top-right user logo to bring up a menu of options
7. Select My Settings

8. From the new My Settings page, click on the Licenses item on the left navigation menu to bring up the list of licensed products.
9. Scroll down to ArcGIS Pro and to the right of it, there will be a download link.

10. Download and install the software. Once installed, the login will work similar to ArcGIS Online, you will login using CAS/SSO and your UGA MyID credentials.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

1. Symptom: When logging into the ESRI portal and ArcGIS Online and clicking on the single sign-on CAS button, an error is presented indicating something similar to, "Application Not Authorized to Use CAS".

   2. Details of Problem: This is typically a temporary problem between the application and the CAS authentication portals that must be remedied by ITOS and the UGA Information Security Office.
      
   3. Troubleshooting / Resolution: Clearing the browser's cache and cookies can usually fix these problems. If that is not a current option, try using the Private or Incognito modes to login to the ESRI portal and ArcGIS Online.
