Overview

Adobe products are now licensed per individual account. Franklin College provides Adobe Acrobat Studio to full-time, benefits-eligible faculty and staff by default. Individuals who require professional creative applications may request access to the Adobe Creative Cloud through the annual enrollment process, subject to available licenses. Students have access to Adobe Express at no cost.

Licensed Products

Adobe Acrobat Studio

• Adobe Acrobat Professional

• Provided by default to eligible Franklin College faculty and staff.

Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

• Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier, Lightroom

• These licenses are available to opt-in during the annual enrollment period for eligible Franklin College faculty and staff.

Eligibility

• Active, full-time, and benefits-eligible faculty and staff

• Must be employed with Franklin College with a primary HR affiliation of greater than 50%

• Exceptions may be requested by contacting the Franklin OIT Helpdesk.

Exclusions (including but not limited to)

• Students

• Affiliates

• Split positions < 50% in Franklin College

• Exceptions may require a unit sponsor and can be requested by contacting the Franklin OIT Helpdesk.

Licensing Types and Options

Named Licenses

Franklin College participates in the campus Adobe license agreement, which permits access to the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Adobe Acrobat Studio software options. Installations are available on up to two computers. To qualify for a named Adobe license, individuals must be:

• Actively employed graduate students are not eligible for named licenses. See Shared License below.

Shared Device Licenses (SDL)

To qualify for an Adobe shared device license, individuals must be:

• Actively employed graduate student (i.e., Graduate Teaching Assistant, Graduate Research Assistant, even if listed as temporary) - are only eligible for shared device license - If there is a graduate student lab available in a unit, please require graduate students to access Adobe products in the lab.

• Anyone with a myID is eligible to use the SDL in Franklin College shared lab computers with SDL installed.

Student-Focused Licenses

Computer Labs and Classrooms

This licensing model does not affect Adobe software installed in Franklin College instructional labs and teaching spaces. Creative Cloud applications remain available where required for instruction using Shared Device Licenses (SDL).

Course-based Student Licenses

Franklin College Instructional Units with courses requiring student access to the full Creative Cloud should reach out to Franklin OIT for consultation and instructions on how to enroll in the annual named student license program.

Individual Student Licenses

While students in Franklin College can use the Shared Device Licenses for Adobe products in any of our computer labs, there are two additional ways students may be able to obtain access to Adobe Products:

• All students qualify for free access to Adobe Express

  • Navigate to Adobe Express and login using your UGA MyID credentials

• Students can apply for a limited-term full Creative Cloud license through EITS

  • EITS Adobe Creative Cloud Request Form
