Summary

Franklin College Faculty members access to manage their own page on their department's web site.

This service is only available to faculty in departments that have a department website provided by Franklin OIT.

Benefits of Service

Franklin OIT has recently made changes to expand the options available for faculty personnel pages on Departmental websites. Faculty can use their personnel page for storing and sharing their CV, Bio, Publications, and other pertinent information.

Requesting Use and Support

If you work for one of these departments, you should already have a page on your department site. Visit your department's directory listing and make sure you have a page.

If you do not have a page, please  submit a helpdesk ticket and request a page on your department's site. We will contact the department to make sure a page is created. We will also make sure you can login to manage the content on the page.

Eligibility

Faculty pages are only available to active Franklin College Faculty. When a faculty member is no longer an active employee of the University, their page will be disabled. The department has the discretion to keep pages available for Emeritus faculty. Additionally, the department that the faculty member is affiliated with must have a website that is provided by Franklin OIT.

Content Restrictions and Advisories

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are authorized to use any copyrighted material that may be posted on their websites. If OIT receives a copyright infringement notification, we may need to take all or part of the site offline until the issue can be rectified. Units must receive permission from students prior to posting images of students on their websites. Content must also adhere to local, state, and federal laws as they apply. Sensitive data may not be stored using this service at any time. The presence of sensitive data will necessitate taking the site off line until all risks have been documented and mitigated.

Client Responsibility

Data backup and Recovery

Franklin OIT does not provide recovery of individual faculty pages.

Before you make significant changes to your page, we recommend you save down a copy of your site locally for reference purposes in the case that you delete or alter content accidentally. You will be able to view your page offline with the local copy to find material you may have deleted or altered before the change.

OIT Responsibility

Franklin OIT is responsible for the following:

  • Respond to requests to have a faculty page added and coordinate with departments to ensure the page is added and permissions are correct
  • Provide training materials on how to utilize this service
  • Maintain the safety and security of this service through routine maintenance and the enforcement of security policies
  • Notify clients of any disruption in service - Clients can subscribe to notifications by visiting status.franklin.uga.edu
