Adding Languages and Phonetic Keyboards on Windows 10 and Windows 11
Environment: Windows 10 and Windows 11
Access level required: Standard user (admin not required)
To download a different language and keyboard on Windows 10/11 please follow these steps:
1. Press Windows Key + X.
Go to Settings and select Time and Language.
Go to Region and Language.
Click on Add a Language
Select the language desired from the list.
To add a specific phonetic layout; Follow the steps below after adding the preferred language in your settings:
1. Click on the new language button that will be under the English Language you already have. (click on the 3 dots on the right side)
2. Click Language Options, and from there Select the Phonetic layout you desire.
This way, anyone and everyone can do so at their leisure.
If the dialect or phonetic keyboard you need isn't listed, you can submit a ticket to Franklin OIT to add it.
