Dual OS Policy

Overview

Based on staffing levels, Franklin OIT will fully support a single, standard operating system on standard hardware. Running multiple operating systems increases support costs as one computer will require the support associated with multiple computers. Clients who need software that uses a specific operating system should choose a primary computer that natively runs the required operating system. Franklin OIT will consider exceptions to this standard in consultation with Department Heads and/or Deans.
