Legacy Applications

Overview

Franklin OIT will support legacy applications at a limited support level if they are required by a critical need. Support for legacy operating systems, including Windows XP, will not be provided. Exceptions for legacy operating systems will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Extra security precautions, which may include removing the supported device from the network, will need to be taken when supporting any legacy operating systems or applications. When an operating system or application stops receiving routine security updates, it is important to either upgrade to a version that receives routine security updates or take extra measures to ensure security.
