Installing and Licensing ChemOffice/ChemDraw

If you've downloaded ChemOffice via this EITS page, you may need some help installing and licensing the software on your personal computer. This page is a step-by-step walkthrough of how to activate your copy of ChemOffice for Windows or Mac OS. If you're attempting to install ChemDraw or ChemOffice on a computer managed by Franklin College OIT, please submit a helpdesk ticket for assistance.

Windows Installation and Activation

Step 1: Register or log in to the Revvity website.

Once you click on the link, use the Search for Institution bar to find "University of Georgia" and click Register under the Mnova ChemDraw Edition.

Fill out the User Registration Page and click submit to create an account for your email address. Reregister if you've registered in the past, but you're unsure of what email address you used or what your password may be.

If you have your credentials ready after completing registration, you can either select "Click Here to Login" as shown below or go to https://perkinelmer.flexnetoperations.com/control/prkl/login in order to log in directly.

On the login page, use the "Sign Up" tab for your first-time login and create a password.

You'll see the following screen. Click on the image below to magnify.

Step 2: Pick your software version.

Select the version of ChemOffice you'd like to install from the Product list. FOIT recommends the latest version available to you. You'll be taken to the following screen. Click on the version of ChemOffice you'd like to download.

Step 3: Click the download link for Windows.

Step 4: Run the installer.

Run the .exe (Windows) or .dmg (macOS) file.

For Windows machines, a standard installer Window will pop up.

Scroll down in the License Agreement window, then click the radio button to accept the agreement.

Select Chemscript if you need it.

Select Python if you need it.

ChemDraw Suite

Please make sure ChemDraw Suite (circled below in Green) is checked to ensure ChemDraw installs.

The installer may default to install ChemDraw Collections (circled in Red), which requires a Signals NoteBook account to license. If you do not have a Signals NoteBook account and would only like to install ChemDraw, feel free to uncheck the option for ChemDraw Collections.

Finish the installation. This will take about a minute on average.

Step 5: Apply your Activation Code.

You'll still need to be logged into the Perkin-Elmer webpage to do this. From the home screen, select and copy the Product Activation code for the version of ChemOffice you've installed. Each code is a block of four groups of four characters (A1B2-CDEF-3456-78GH, etc), and can be located in the Product Activation column.

Step 6: Open and activate ChemOffice.

Open the software. By default, it will be grouped in your Start menu under "ChemOffice [Your Version Number Here]".

When you open the software for the first time, you'll be prompted for your Activation Method. Please choose "Activation Code"

...and input your name, email address, and activation code.

Once you've input your information, click the Activate button. ChemOffice should launch, and you can start using the software.
