Smartphones and Tablets

Franklin OIT recommends Apple and Android based smartphones and tablets.  All phones and tablets that contain 3G or 4G antennas are considered Wireless Communication Devices (WCDs) by the Office of Telephone Services which require special approval before ordering. For help with ordering state funded smartphones and tablets, please submit a ticket to the Helpdesk to receive consultation from a member of the Client Services team.

Classroom and Conference Room Technology

Franklin OIT collaborates with the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to implement and support a standard model in classrooms across the college.  This standard model uses a variety of technologies based on the instructional needs of the space.  For questions about classroom technology needs, please submit a ticket to the Helpdesk to schedule an appointment with a member of the Instructional Technology team.

Server and Networking Equipment

Franklin OIT purchases Dell server hardware and complies with University standards for switches and access points. In collaboration with Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS), we support Foundry/Brocade switches and Cisco wireless access points. All wireless networking deployed on the contiguous campus must be a part of the campus-wide PAWS system. Please submit a ticket to the Helpdesk to request consultation from a member of the Systems Management team.
