Overview

Your Franklin College Departmental Drupal 10 web site comes equipped with the ability to create basic content pages that are restricted to viewing by only Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students. This feature is not automatically enabled so you will have to create a helpdesk ticket at http://helpdesk.franklin.uga.edu requesting that we turn on this feature.

This feature IS NOT AVAILABLE for faculty and research lab web sites. This is a feature restricted to Departmental web sites.

The "pages" you create are behind myID login, but any files you may upload and link to the page are not restricted. Google may index these files. Please DO NOT store any sensitive or restricted data using this feature. Refer to the UGA Data Classification and Protection Standard (https://eits.uga.edu/access_and_security/infosec/pols_regs/policies/dcps/) to ensure you are not storing sensitive or restricted data.

Add Restricted Content

Step 1: Create a Basic Page

A. Click "Content"

Once you've logged in, click the "content" menu item in the top navigation.  See screen cap below.

B. Click "Add Content"

Click the blue "Add Content" button. See screen cap below.

C. Click "Basic Page"

D. Enter your Page Text

Finally you will enter the content that you want on your basic page. Remember if you upload any files and link them to the page, Google may index those files. Do not post anything that is considered sensitive or restricted data. You can place this page this in the menu structure of your site where ever you want it. It will only show up in the menu for those users that are logged in with a "personnel" role.

E. Save and Test

Click the blue save button and you are done. Feel free to test by going to the page when you are not logged into the site. You should get a message that says you are not authorized to view the page. See screen cap below:
