Digital Accessibility and ADA Title II Compliance Monthly Workshops

As digital accessibility continues moving forward to meeting the revised ADA Title II compliance deadline of April 26, 2027, Franklin OIT and campus partners are here to help faculty and staff continue implementing the necessary processes and changes to their daily operations to meet these criteria.

Starting in September 22nd and proceeding on a monthly basis, Franklin OIT will be offering Accessibility workshops for all interested faculty and staff within Franklin College. These workshops are drop-in and available via Zoom. Meetings will be recorded and publicly shared so that the content is accessible and available to all interested individuals. These materials will also help to reinforce our available content and guidance to help make this process a greater success.

Reminder about Adobe and Zoom Licensing Changes

Over the summer, the UGA campus transitioned the licensing models across two major software products, Adobe and Zoom. Both of these products transitioned from general licensing into more specific and individual-based licenses per instructional unit and operational office. Due to these changes, each major instructional unit (Colleges and Schools) and operational units (e.g Office of Instruction) will have different eligibility criteria and implementation processes used to manage their corresponding licenses. Franklin OIT has provided the following information to help faculty and staff understand these changes and how they apply.

GACRC Teaching Cluster for Fall Semester

”A small high-performance computing cluster devoted exclusively to teaching duties is available for use during the Fall 2026 semester. This cluster includes high-memory nodes and GPU-enabled nodes. The cluster, which is supported by the Georgia Advanced Computing Resource Center (GACRC), was also in use during the spring. Faculty members interested in discussing the capabilities of the teaching cluster and how it might integrate with their coursework should contact the GACRC. For more information, contact Dr. Guy Cormier.” -(EITS August Tech News)
