UGA Adobe Product Licensing Changes for FY27
Due to changes in the University of Georgia’s institutional licensing agreement with Adobe, Franklin College is updating how Adobe products are provided. Faculty and staff will retain Adobe Acrobat by default, with opt‑in access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite available by request and justification. At the same time, students now have access to Adobe Express at no charge, providing a web‑based creative tool for coursework and general academic use.

Primary Computer Lifecycle Program Underway for Franklin College
Franklin OIT has begun this year’s Primary Computer Lifecycle Replacement Program, an annual effort focused on ensuring faculty and staff have reliable, secure, and fully supported computing resources.
Eligible Franklin College faculty and staff are receiving advance notice that they will soon be contacted through the Franklin OIT TeamDynamix Helpdesk system to provide input on their primary computer replacement. This updated outreach approach reflects recent improvements to the lifecycle program and supports more consistent planning, transparency, and long‑term supportability across the College.
What to Expect
In the coming days, eligible individuals will receive an automated message requesting input on their replacement computer. This step allows faculty and staff to share information that helps align replacement devices with operational needs, institutional standards, and supported environments.
When considering available options, participants are encouraged to select a computer that aligns with their daily business needs, supports their unit’s operations, and remains compatible with supported campus systems and services. Where applicable, this includes compatibility with systems such as OneSource and OneUSGConnect, as well as other institutionally supported applications. Standardization and the College’s long‑term ability to support devices remain important considerations in this process.
Timely Responses and Default Selections
A timely response to the TeamDynamix request is encouraged to ensure individual preferences are considered. If no response is received by the deadline included in the communication, a replacement computer will be selected on the individual’s behalf that most closely matches their existing device and current support standards.
Final replacement prioritization decisions are made in coordination with unit leadership and are subject to college‑level funding availability.
