Franklin Student Course Evaluations to be Decommissioned
The UGA Registrar's office has announced the implementation of a new campus-wide online student course evaluation system. As part of this new roll out, Franklin College will be officially decommissioning our online Student Course Evaluation system on April 30th. As part of this transition, we encourage all interested units and faculty to log in and export any data they may need for strategic planning or internal review.
To ensure continued access to historical information, we will also conduct a bulk export of all anonymous evaluation data stored over the past seven years. There will be multiple opportunities to obtain your data before the system is fully decommissioned:
Now - April 30, 2026:
Data may be directly exported from the current system while it remains online and in a read-only state.
May 1, 2026 - April 30, 2027:
Bulk, unformatted data exports will be available through shared files for an additional ten months. Request access from the Franklin OIT Helpdesk.
Beginning May 1, 2027:
All data will be transferred to UGA Archives for the remainder of its six year retention period. After this period, it will be permanently expunged in accordance with records retention guidelines. Access to these data will be available through UGA Archives and Records.
If you or your unit anticipates needing access to past evaluation data, we strongly encourage you to log in and self export information before April 30th.
For the old system, please contact the Franklin OIT Helpdesk with data access requests.
For the new system, please contact the Registrar at courseevals@uga.edu for more information or with questions.
ADA Title II Digital Accessibility Reminder and Resources
This is a reminder of the various tools and resources available to help you on creating and converting digital content to becoming ADA Title II accessible.
All digital content created or shared by UGA faculty and staff must be accessible to everyone. Federal updates to ADA Title II now require public higher‑education institutions to ensure that websites, course materials, electronic documents, email, social media content, and mobile applications are accessible.
UGA is aiming to be compliant, or making substantial progress to becoming compliant, by April 24, 2026.
Your Role
Every content owner plays an essential part in meeting these requirements. Franklin OIT is here to help, but accessibility must be built into the work you create and maintain.
Key Resources: Franklin Digital Accessibility Handbook
Please review our Digital Accessibility Handbook for clear guidance, examples, and checklists:
This handbook is updated regularly and includes sections such as:
Understanding Digital Accessibility
Why this matters and how it applies to your work?
Guidance on Specific Programs and content (e.g. Word, Outlook, Acrobat)
Franklin OIT is Here to Support You
Outside of the handbook and our helpdesk, our Instructional Technology and Web Services teams both offer open office hours for drop‑in help, plus scheduled appointments:
Franklin OIT will continue working with units and individuals to identify non‑compliant content and recommend solutions, but long‑term success depends on all faculty and staff doing their part.
