- Download the installer (under the heading "How do I access JMP?") from the EITS website here: https://eits.uga.edu/hardware_and_software/software/jmp/ . A pop-up will appear asking you to log in; enter a valid UGA MyID and password to start the download.
- Right-click the downloaded zip file for the JMP installer (usually saved in your Downloads folder by default) and select "Extract All..." from the drop down menu.
- Specify a folder to extract the installation files and click Extract.
Go into the folder you extracted for the JMP installation. Navigate to JMP-Pro-
15-Windows-x64\Windows17.0-Win\sas_depot_win_JMP Pro 17.0\JMP\JMP_Pro\
1517_0\
WindowsWindows and double click the
setupjmppro_1700_win.exe file.
Info title If you are not logged in as an Administrator, Right-Click and choose "Run as Administrator" to install JMP 17! - An install window will open and you will be prompted to click Next a few times until you can click Install to proceed with the installation. (You may be prompted to enter an Administrator password to proceed)

- To obtain a new license file, download it from the EITS website here: https://eits.uga.edu/hardware_and_software/software/jmp/ under the heading "How do I license JMP?". Enter your MyID information when prompted for a username and password.
Just like with the installer files in step 3 of the installation section, right-click the downloaded file, select "Extract All", then choose a folder to extract the contents to.
You may need to save the file by right-clicking and then choosing "Save link as..." to save the .txt file to your computer. - Launch JMP as an administrator. In the "Provide Your JMP License" window, click "Open License"
Navigate to your extracted saved JMP license folder. Click the license file you need, then and click "Open" to select it. If you're using JMP 15, select the license file that begins with JMP150. If you're using JMP 16, choose the one beginning with JMP160. The file should begin with JMP170.
- A window will pop up, asking if you'd like to personalize your license. You can skip this by clicking "OK"
- File Explorer will open again, asking where you'd like to save your permanent license file. Save it somewhere safe, if it gets deleted JMP will no longer function.
- Enjoy using JMP!

- Double click the downloaded zip file JMP-Pro-1517-Mac.zip (usually saved in your Downloads folder by default) and a new folder "Macintoshsas_depot_mac_JMP Pro 17.0" for JMP will be created. Navigate to Navigate to JMP\JMP_Pro\1517_0\Macintosh and double click on JMP-Installjmppro_1700_mac.dmg
- A window should open automatically showing a .pkg installer file, but you may need to open the newly mounted JMP folder on the desktop. Double click the .pkg file to begin the installation.
- An install window will open and you will be prompted to click Continue a few times until you can click Install to proceed with the installation. (You may be prompted to enter an Administrator password to proceed)
- After installation is complete, close the window and it will ask you if you want to move the JMP installer to the trash. Either is fine, we suggest moving it to the trash.
- All done! Enjoy JMP Pro!
